handmade one-of-a-kind leather bags and accessories.

I've always been reluctant to show pictures of my hand made one-of-a-kind leather bags and accessories on a website. To truly experience the luxurious softness of the premium leathers I use you must touch and feel them in your hands. When deciding to make a bag, I look at the hide I have decided to use for a bag, and sometimes spend hours looking at it to "find" the bag in it. The edges, thickness and pliability all come in to play, while the character and "defects" of the hide attribute to the uniqueness of my bags. Letting the leather determine the final product is a sensational feeling, so I just "go with it". The use of natural products directly from nature, such as stones, fossils, tree branches, antlers, and other things I happen to find hiking, give them a warm earthy feeling. My favorite thing to use is fish skin. Yuk! fish skin you say?  I need to let you know that fish skin has NO fishy smell, and is just as strong as real leather, as they are tanned in the same way. Fish skins come in glossy, satin and matte finishes. Matte is my favorite because of the soft texture. Over the years my customers have agreed wholeheartedly that fish skin is a unique soft embellishment on my bags. I have even made whole bags and accessories out of fish skins. Sliced agates seemed like a great embellishment because of their unique shapes and undulations. I never have, and never will, use endangered species, and I'm hoping that the bags I make enhance the hides of the animals I use.. Hopefully, they can "live on" in my bags, and my love of working with the natural products will show in the end result. Designer bags are always popular, and usually well made, but if you truly want to show your uniqueness, your individuality, and stand out in a crowd you will love my bags.

If you're interested in purchasing my bags please contact me and we can work something out.

Thanks for looking,    joni
